When we packed up the van for our drive today, we forget to check the bags were on the overhead bed. My laptop bag was perched on a ledge above my head and as such I took the full brunt of my laptop bag which has lots of weight in it sliding off the top of the wardrobe and landing directly on my barnet whilst driving around a corner. Ouch is an understatement. Imagine driving then being smashed on the head with a mallet and you may be somewhere close to the surprise and the sudden jarring of my head and neck. I think I lost an inch in height and made a reference to Gladstone Small which nobody got of course (80’s cricket player with a notoriously small or should I say no neck).
We decided to stick with the French Passion sites again today and headed towards an organic cassis farmer in Conceur which is just into Burgundy. The farmer greeted us with a jolly smile and then directed us to the only parking spot they allocate. We had our own table and chairs and a view of the vineyard and farm land for as far as the eye can see. He assured us on a clear day you can see Mont Blanc. See photos for the pitch. I love waking up to different views out of the window, we have been spoilt with vistas, sunrises and of course beautiful red and crimson sunsets.
We purchased some cassis and opened a bottle of the champagne we purchased from Gremillet, it was lovely but I think I prefer my bubbly without the cassis.
