We left the insane heat of Lake Garda to travel to Venice. We set off around 10am and by the time we got on the toll road we were all being slowly roasted in the van. Sometimes the motorhome feels more like a slow cooker than a home, even though it is white, it still warms up tremendously. We arrived and found the camper parking which was adequate for a couple of days before we get the ferry to Igoumenitsa in Greece. We took a visit into Venice on the evening for a stroll around and a bite to eat. Venice is very pretty but it is also hot and can be a little smelly on some canals. The kids loved the buildings as they couldn't remember coming with us last time, which was 10 years ago to be fair to the munchkins. We found a little restaurant and I have to say the pasta I had was one of the best I have ever tasted, the whole Badger clan we fighting me for my dish, delicious. We had two nights at the campsite then decided we couldn't handle the heat and so went to Lido di Jesolo which is about an hour away, hoping for some shade to park under. Lido di Jesolo is a beach resort but the motorhome parking was again insanely hot with no shade and so I took the kids for a dip in the sea which was remarkably warm, leaving Toni to deep clean the motorhome in her bikini. I think we are ready to leave the heat as it is just too sticky hot in Italy. We like heat but not the sticky heat where you sweat all day long. Hollie took a night time swim to cool off on our walk which is out of character as she normally needs tempting into the water. Go Hollie!!
As I write these blog's I realise how many times the word hot has been used so I must apologise but we have literally spent each day waiting for evening to come. Enough said.
